Description
Guatemalan La Morena fresh roasted coffee.
In Guatemala coffee has long been a male-dominated industry so gender equality remains a constant challenge. This in turn has made it incredibly difficulty for women to compete and thrive in the coffee industry. La Morena exists as a Guatemalan collective of 23 women owned farms providing excellent quality coffee beans for the world to enjoy. For each pound of green beans sold to roasters, a percentage of the proceeds go directly to International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA).
As far as the coffee goes, this has been on of my favorite Guatemalan’s to date. Huehuetenango has a reputation of bringing some stunning coffees with rich, chocolate, smooth, and sweet flavors…this batch does not disappoint. My brewing recommendations are Cold Brew (sweet bomb of coffee), Chemex/Pour over, espresso, or drip.
