Description
In all their glory, striking earth tones of Deep Golden Yellows, Greens, and Browns are the hallmark of the finest rustic examples of natural Flower Jade. This necklace makes a bold creative statement, yet lies gracefully against the body. The untreated, totally natural stones are rough-cut into abstract trapezoids. Miriam created this exotic necklace to be worn with distinction. All the necklace stones are reversible and carefully placed by Miriam in an abstract design that has its own symmetry. Each stone is beautifully accented by handwrought bronze from both American and Russian metalsmiths. *(See below for the origins of the bronze Miriam uses).
• Necklace length is 20 inches.
• Trapezoid-shaped, abstract, and rough-cut stones are approximately 20-25mm x 12-24mm.
• The Flower Jade rondelles are 8mm.
• Flower-sculpted bronze accents are 7mm
• Bronze rondels are 8mm.
• The S-shaped clasp is also handwrought bronze.
What kind of Bronze does Miriam use? The S-shaped textured clasp and rondels are Old World Bronze™ that was handwrought using ancient casting bronze methods that the Charveaux family of metalsmiths modernized in Scottsdale, Arizona. Each bronze bead is artistically designed and handcrafted, utilizing their carefully developed bronze formula and an age-old “lost wax” method. The “Flower” carved accent beads were handcrafted by Anna Chernykh of ANNA Bronze. Anna lives and works in Kungur, a small town in the Ural Mountains area of Russia. She also uses an old wax casting method and the Russian technical standard of bronze known as BrOF 10-1. It contains only copper and tin, no cadmium, no lead, and no nickel. As it ages, the rich patina of bronze is often thought to be more beautiful than gold.
